Don't work for moments already forgotten. You know that you can never work nothing from the dead back start walking. But I've noticed lately they've got the fear in their eyes and not the ones with the guns, but the ones there beside them and Over and over again we're gonna run on forever and then back around and do the same damn thing that ruined us then because he wanted his and him his and him his and him his. Well Georgie stole like a king as he bought his way in and then went on vacation to watch with his friends as the two biggest buildings in the country fell down while the people that he blamed were right there in his house and then quietly placed on a plane and flown out while the rest of the world sat and watched it all happen. And no one was told of this, only that we'd fallen victim to terror and terror they heaved on these two other countries who just happened to have oil while the number of innocent people who die climbs so Over and over again we're gonna run on forever and then back around and do the same damn thing that ruined us then because he wanted his and him his and him his and him his. Oh no no no, I won't get carried away by the fear that they've made as we push into summer. And then four years fly by with Iraq on our minds and still no one knows why because there hasn't been an answer but with terror alerts as your TV goes red "It'll happen again if you don't vote ME in!" But I, I can't even understand what he says, but it doesn't make a difference 'cause he's a christian and God wants him in. Eight years later and nothing has changed but the jobs and markets yea they're starting to fade. And the war still ain't over but they're talking about change But since when has a politicians word meant a thing? So I think I'm gonna vote for the lesser of evils, yea the one from less money with no king there beside him. But I wonder if he can win, if my people and my kin can see the man who he is or just the color of his skin so Over and over again we're gonna run on forever and then back around and do the same damn thing that ruined us then because he wanted his and him his and him his and him his.

Vampires 03:51
Brother, you think you know me but do you know me well? You're holding up you hands like you're gonna lift me up. And give my life over to someone else. Sign my name away and drink his blood. And though it seems like a good time before I try it I would like to think a while. (but thank you) So I turn on my TV set and do you know what's there. Well every station that I click through it seems to be playing the same program. It's flawless young bodies looking too good to be alive. Runnin' around like wild animals out in the moonlight. But all I can think about is why does everything always have to be about vampires? So I turn back to my TV set and something new was there. It's people talking of what's been happening with the war we're in. And I point my finger and the picture it changes to a pale skinned man and the gorgeous woman that he's saving. Oh, and they've found love in such a dark place, the devil he is strange ain't he. But what i really wan to know is why does everything always have to be about vampires?

I am a purple sunless sky, the bruised and bright New Jersey night trapped in a sad eternal light, alone but with everybody watching. And if you see me out tonight don't bother asking how I'm doing because I'll just smile and say I'm alright. Well, I've found talking about sadness just brings sadness and I wouldn't want to bring somebody down. So just let me be to shake this thing away somehow and I'll be back here with a smile telling stories of the towns and music laughing with my friends again, that simple, perfect sound.

Meadowlands 05:27
Lose yourself into where the mountainside meets the Pacific Highway. And I'll wait for you there, listening to the water as it throws itself on the ocean sand and holds me, suspended in this moment where the cars crawl by on the road ahead, looking like a movie set. I feel like I'm alive again. But I need something more than elements to keep me here. Because you know when the sun goes down and the desert cold surrounds me I will be on my way again with my loneliness hanging from my neck like it's a bayonet sticking out to put to test if everything I encounter is worth it To forget what she means to you. Oh you did the best that you could do, and now she is gone. Oh but don't lose sight of all the love you have. Because California just can't love you back like the people in the Meadowlands.

Here's a song for your ears that you've heard through the years as it's chords are like many the same. Such is life so it seems as the business folk dream of a place that they'd rather call home. As they sit in their cubes with their lives on repeat to work the same day until they get old. But the tragedy lies in the ones who survive just to find out they have ruined themselves. To the men and the women, who work in the fields and the factories and the kitchens and the trains. Here's to those whom without, this great country would die. To my family, my neighbors, and my friends. (Oh) I'm gonna go out and have me a night and I'm gonna sing out a song for the rain. Because this life is to strange to make way through it dry so let's drink until the morning again. So I climbed to the top of this bridge that just happens to be named after the place where i live. And from the peak of that monstrous man-made machine I looked out on the city and my part of Jersey. And there breathing it in, was then struck by an idea That had to do with the people of my time and how the things that they say and what's inside of their minds are so frequently further from being the same that i often can't tell if who they are will remain where they stand at the end of our conversation. And from this thought I have formed a complaint. And I speak this now not from the lips of a saint. No, I have certainly sinned, yes I've lived and I hate to quote Bobby because I know that I look just like him but I must also say what Ezra Pound did. He said if a culture allows their language to die then nothing else that they do from that point will survive. And with this in my head, I sat down and listened to the person in charge of me but I could not comprehend a single word that he said because he didn't say anything. (Oh) So I'm gonna go out and have me a night And I'm gonna sing out a song for the rain. Because this life is to strange to make way through it dry so let's drink until the morning again.
